From Huddersfield BID - Sexual Harassment - Menopause Awareness - Mental Health and Resilience

  • The Media Centre 7 Northumberland Street Huddersfield, HD1 1RL United Kingdom (map)

Gain up-to-date advice and guidance on employers' responsibilities on Sexual Harassment in the workplace.

Employers now have a legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and create a safe working environment and this free 1-day event can give you guidance on ensuring your workplace is a safe and healthy environment for your employees.

Employers should make sure they know how the menopause relates to the law, including the:

  • Equality Act 2010, which protects workers against discrimination.

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which says an employer must, where reasonably practical, ensure everyone's health, safety and welfare at work.

Employers have a 'duty of care'.

This means they must do all they reasonably can to support workers' health, safety and wellbeing. This includes:

  • Making sure the working environment is safe.

  • Protecting staff from discrimination.

  • Carrying out risk assessments.
