Enjoy a new exhibition from local artist Alison Edmunds (located in Bates Mill) exploring her mysterious and richly coloured oil paintings, which are a contemplation of movement from one place to another and the possibility of what could happen in the space between.

The paintings flow from one work to the next, pulling motifs through which metamorphose into other states and manifestations. She is inspired by elemental happenings, destruction and renewal, unexpected phenomena, duality, fragmentary memories and soundbites from everyday life.

Whilst working, Alison chooses to stop every so often on the journey and explore elements on a minute or more extensive scale in an attempt to make some sense of our position in the greater scheme of things, but also, in no small way, just to see where the paint takes her.

Alison has exhibited in both public and private galleries and her work is held in private collections both in the UK and abroad.
